Fin Fan Cleaning for Optimal Heat Exchanger Performance

What are Fin Fans

Fin fans are industrial air-cooled heat exchangers (ACHEs) that are critical components in oil and gas processing equipment, natural gas dehydration systems and refineries. They use ambient air to cool and process fluids flowing through the tubes as a cooling medium. Over time these units tend to collect dust, dirt, and other debris, especially if they are located in harsh production environments. The proper way to clean them involves using a mechanical cleanser to remove deposits from the tubes within the fin fan unit.

Why Is Cleaning Your Fin Fan Important

Fin fan cleaning is necessary for maintaining clean equipment and preventing dirt and debris from building up. Foul fins restrict airflow, causing corrosion, vibrations, and other issues such as overheating. This leads to reduced heat transfer efficiency of the exchanger and higher energy cost. Routine fin fan cleaning prevents these issues by removing buildup before it causes equipment damage or production downtime. Restoring them to their original performance and lowering overall maintenance cost.

CROFT’S New Fin fan cleaning service

As Croft Production Systems expands our services will as well, we are committed to helping our clients maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. Our service team will now be providing fin fan cleaning to our service line.

Using a low pressure, high-volume foam cleaner, our technicians will:

  • Saturate and loosen debris on the fins without causing damage
  • Restore proper airflow and cooling efficiency
  • Reduce costly equipment overhauls or replacements
  • Improve safety and reliability of your dehydration unit.

CROFT’s new service allows operators to optimize heat transfer, lower energy costs, and extend the life of their fin fan units to decrease the chances of you having to shut down your equipment.

Schedule your fin fan cleaning by calling our office or sending a request through our website, our EOC team will guide you through the process. Want to learn more about what Croft Production Systems fin fan cleaning services offers, visit our web page.
